The Advanced Open Water Diver class helps to increase your confidence by improving your buoyancy, navigation and safety skills. You will become a more experienced diver. More experience will lead to greater safety and improved buoyancy skills will allow you to do and see more on each dive. The Advanced Diver class will improve your diving like no other class and is really worth your time and effort. The class includes six dives where you’ll learn the following skills:
Deep Diving.
Night and Limited Visibility Diving.
Underwater Navigation.
Boat Diving.
The remaining dives can be any of the following:
Nitrox Diving.
Dry Suit.
Search and Recovery.
Light Salvage.
Fish Identification.
Non-Penetration Wreck Diving.
Underwater Hunter/Collector.
Students may opt to include Nitrox and/or Dry Suit to this program and all the dives may be combined. Those who choose this option receive a package price, contact us for details.
The Advanced Open Water Diver course offers a number of benefits, including:
Students gain additional open water experience under the guidance and supervision of a knowledgeable instructor.
They receive an introduction to a variety of specialty diving activities.
Students meet an important prerequisite for Rescue Diver and other leadership training, as well as for a number of more advanced Specialty and Technical Diver courses.
Additionally, course graduates qualify to take part in a number of diving activities in which participation is limited to “Advanced Divers Only.”
The Advanced course requires just a single weekend. You can take it immediately upon completion of your beginning scuba course (this is, in fact, recommended as it more than doubles the amount of open-water training you receive as a new diver). You can complete the dives locally, on one of our many Charleston, Myrtle Beach or Florida Springs trips or on most of our other group dive vacations.
Prerequisites
Be at least 15 years old (12-14 for Junior Divers).
Possess a minimum of Open Water Diver certification.
